People are becoming patients, not because the (imperfect) vaccines are harmful, but DESPITE the vaccines being dramatically helpful. Yes, we need even better science with respect to understanding these viral mutations. Yes, we need vaccines which help for longer, and anticipate mutations. Yes, we need inexpensive and accessible (tested, safe, and effective) oral, treatments even if we are early in our infection, or have mild infection symptoms (medicines to prevent spread to those who are vulnerable). In the meantime, vaccinations and masking, not just for our own safety, but for the safety of others.
