For better or for worse, life is a series of tyrannies of deadlines.

Forgiveness is a conscious, purposeful, active, energy-consuming act.
Forgiveness does not mean that you approve, support or forget.
Forgiveness is an acceptance of a reality.
Forgiveness is freeing…freeing for everyone involved.
You do NOT have to forgive. It is your choice.

These are two of the most powerful beliefs which drive abusive and controlling males to not make the changes needed to save themselves, their relationships, their marriages and their families.

A recurring theme, which does not seem to be segregated by age or experience, is that when we have significant difficulties in our lives, we somehow feel that we have to shoulder these burdens by ourselves.
We do not.

We race through our mornings so that we can make it to lunch.
We race through our afternoons so that we can leave work.
We race through the first part of the week to make it to hump day, Wednesdays.
We race through the rest of the week to make it to the weekends.
We race through our weeks to make it to our vacations.
Why are we racing through our limited time on this planet?

I am a father, a husband, a son, a brother, a nephew, a cousin, a friend and a soon to be retired internist. People have been calling me Dr. Charles Tadros for almost 31 years. In a few more years I suspect it will be wise for me to drop the initials.
I have practiced a little bit of inpatient, but mostly outpatient, primary care medicine in Saint Louis, Missouri for almost 27 years, caring for 15 year-olds and older. During this time I have also worked as a medical director for hospice, as founder of a ketamine infusion clinic and as a founder of a smoking cessation clinic.
As a tribute to my family, my friends, my teachers, my co-workers and my patients, I hope that this blog reveals, highlights and reinforces in you, the reader, the worthwhile insights and and “Aha!” moments from your own experiences and life.
