  1. I was a person who gradually drank a few times to week to drinking every night until I was staggering to bed. I hope people take the above advice. Dr Tadros helped me face the demon and I stopped drinking all alcohol even though I was afraid to live without the “joy” of drinking. Most of my fears were unfounded and life became great without booze. That was probably 15-20 years ago. With a good social strategy and medical back up, I stopped the alcohol chaos that wrecks so many lives. My friends did not leave me because I quit drinking. The only people I no longer see are the ones who teased me and kept trying to get me to drink. I had to plug the above advice.

    1. Hiya Marilyn! I want to make sure that you are OK with my making your comments public. The cascading benefits of sharing your story is much more poignant and powerful than any of comments. Thank you Marilyn

      1. The short answer is yes, it is okay to make my comments public. It took me the first two years of alcohol abstinence to get over being embarrassed to admit to such a problem. Some people wouldn’t even believe me. How could such a “nice”, “accomplished” person have such a problem? When I finally got the courage to tell my story to others, many came to me privately to ask how they could stop drinking. Using my real name is empowering. If anyone reading this is starting to question whether they drink too much, please talk to your doctor. There are so many ways to help you.
