What I suspect that we and others mean is for us to take a chance as long the action has no long-term or permanent health, financial, relationship or social adverse consequences.
A less eloquent, but more accurate statement might be, “TAKE A CALCUALED RISK. IF IT WORKS OUT, THEN, GREAT! OH, BY THE WAY, IF EVENTS OR RESULTS DO NOT TURN OUT SO GREAT, BE READY TO NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE CRAPPY DECISIONS YOU JUST MADE.”
