WHAT DO WE REALLY MEAN WHEN WE SAY THAT, “I WILL TRY ANYTHING ONCE.”? WHAT DO WE UNDERSTAND WHEN WE ARE TOLD TO, “TAKE A CHANCE.”?

What I suspect that we and others mean is for us to take a chance as long the action has no long-term or permanent health, financial, relationship or social adverse consequences.

A less eloquent, but more accurate statement might be, “TAKE A CALCUALED RISK. IF IT WORKS OUT, THEN, GREAT! OH, BY THE WAY, IF EVENTS OR RESULTS DO NOT TURN OUT SO GREAT, BE READY TO NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE CRAPPY DECISIONS YOU JUST MADE.”
