ONE OF THE MORE FRUSTRATING ASPECTS OF ADDICTION IS THAT, EVEN WHEN AN ADDICT HAS MADE A DECISION TO TELL THE TRUTH, OR TO ASK FOR HELP, BETWEEN THEIR BRAIN AND THEIR LIPS THE MESSAGE IS HIJACKED AND OUT COMES A LIE INSTEAD.

Even when the truth is actually easier to tell, and not associated with consequences, many times, an addict cannot state a simple truth.

Also difficult to understand, is when an addict will lie about topics or events which are totally unrelated to his/her addiction.
