No matter who we are, we all have at least a little bit of pride and a little bit of ego invested in everything we do or say. Unfortunately these two human traits prevent us from recognizing that we need help, asking for help, and accepting help. Others who love us and care about us, have pretty good insights into our deficiencies and insights into the causes for our problems. LISTEN TO THESE IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN OUR LIVES.

“OPEN SECRETS” MAKE PEOPLE BEHAVE AS IF EVERYONE, “IN THE KNOW”, HAS A LOSS OF TOUCH WITH REALITY, A FORM OF MASS HYPNOSIS, OR MASS PSYCHOSIS.

It seems as if a snap of a finger would jolt these people out of this trance, but it will not. People’s shame, embarrassment, fears, disbelief, defense mechanisms, and egos allow these aberrant behaviors to continue, sometimes for years. Charles Tadros, M.D. July 20, 2021 Saint Louis, Missouri

ONE OF THE MORE FRUSTRATING ASPECTS OF ADDICTION IS THAT, EVEN WHEN AN ADDICT HAS MADE A DECISION TO TELL THE TRUTH, OR TO ASK FOR HELP, BETWEEN THEIR BRAIN AND THEIR LIPS THE MESSAGE IS HIJACKED AND OUT COMES A LIE INSTEAD.

Even when the truth is actually easier to tell, and not associated with consequences, many times, an addict cannot state a simple truth. Also difficult to understand, is when an addict will lie about topics or events which are totally unrelated to his/her addiction. Charles Tadros, M.D June 18, 2021 Saint Louis, Missouri
