People with addictive behaviors (leading to ruination of personal finances, health, relationships), severe depression (with psychosis, lack of appetite, lack of personal hygiene, or suicidality), eating disorders (with attendant health risks), bipolar mania (with associated poor judgment related to hypersexuality or hyperspending, leading to relationship strife and financial ruin), schizophrenia (with associated paranoia or loss of touch with reality) at times make decisions which are not in their own current, or future, well-being or self interests.
